I have worked hard for the success I have achieved and take what I do seriously. That said, I like to have fun! I like relaxed, playful, imaginative photo shoots. I also have this paysite. I don't deal well with attitudes or egos. It's one of the main reasons I stay independant. I work with a partner and together we manage my website and all other aspects of my career. When she was little she loved to sing and be very dramatic. Kelly was always dressing up and posing in front of the mirror, dreaming of being a model someday. All throughout her school years she was involved in choir, band and drama. Singing has always been a great passion for her and it developed into a love for writing music and poetry. Although Kelly loved the idea of performing, she was always very shy and lacked confidence in herself. So she spent a lot of her time doing what she loved behind closed doors, only dreaming of becoming what she wanted to be and do with her life. It wasn't until May of 2005 when Kelly was contacted by an amazing artist, by the name of Bryce Hallett, that she saw her opportunity to step out and try her hand at what she really wanted. Bryce had an idea for a series of pictures, and he felt Kelly's look would be perfect for his vision. Before the shoot she felt her usual pre-performance butterflies, but once she stepped in front of the camera something happened inside of her. Kelly says: It was like nothing I had ever experienced before. Suddenly I felt the shyness I had always felt disappear. It was in that moment that I fell in love with modeling and I no longer was afraid to be what I felt and dreamed of. Since that day, I have found a confidence in myself that I never knew was there. Modeling is so much a part of my life now. For me, it is like breathing air and I know I could never give it up. As far back as Kelly can remember she's been singing. Her mother was always singing and playing the piano, so she was constantly surrounded by music as she was growing up. Kelly always wanted to do something with this passion of hers, to share her voice, the music and the poetry that she'd written. So in November of 2006 Kelly decided to record a demo song (which you can listen to here: www.myspace.com/kellyabbassmusic). It's a cover of a Nichole Nordeman song called Burnin'. Kelly says: It's from the first CD I ever bought and has always meant a lot to me. I've been writing a lot and hope to record some of my material soon. For now I'm just enjoying my modeling and singing whenever I get the opportunity. There is a feeling that comes over me when I find myself in front of the camera. It is a rush, a sexual energy that flows over me as I move and pose. Wearing something pretty and sexy, or being completely nude and being able to just be me, is such an empowering and liberating feeling. People who have known me in the past are often surprised by the modeling I do and the confidence they see in my photographs. It's fun to see how people react to me, remembering only a shy and quiet girl. I still am that girl in a lot of ways; it's being in front of the camera that makes me come alive. I'm into modeling because it's fun so I don't stress about being "America's Next Top Model". I model and I sing for myself and for the people who enjoy the work I do.
